Mike GlennSenior Pastor
Mike Glenn serves as Senior Pastor of Brentwood Baptist. Since 1991, membership has skyrocketed from 900 to more than 8,500. Known as a gifted communicator with a unique ability to speak into any generation, his passion is reaching young adults.

Jim BakerExecutive Pastor
Born in Paris, Tennessee and raised in Memphis, Jim graduated from Rhodes University in Memphis and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas. He began his ministry on staff at Immanuel Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana for three years and the moved on to Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas for the next three. Before joining our staff in 2004, he served at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi for 22 years. In the past, he's been the president of the Executive Pastor's Metro Association and served on the Board of Trustees for Mission First, Inc., Mayor's Downtown Jackson, Mississippi Strategic Planning Committee, Mississippi State Council for Quality Control, Board of Trustees for Mission Mississippi, Inc., and Advisory Board for PLACE Ministries, Inc.
At Brentwood Baptist, his role is to use his gifts and strengths to facilitate the implementation of the church's mission, vision, and strategies through the stewarding of its human, financial, physical, and spiritual resources. Jim is married to Lisa and they share their home with their dog, Francie.
Brian DodridgeAssociate Executive Pastor
Originally from Arizona, Brian graduated from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas with a Master of Arts in Christian Education. For 13 years, he served at First Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas before he joined our staff in June 2012. Currently, he works alongside Executive Pastor Jim Baker to manage and oversee day-to-day church operations, including regional campuses and congregations. Brian is married to Dee and they have four children.
Roger SeverinoAdult Minister - Leadership
Raised in the Nashville area, Roger attended Vanderbilt University, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, and went on to work in banking. Later, he attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, graduated with a Master of Divinity degree, and went to serve in youth ministry in Charlotte, North Carolina. He eventually came back to Nashville to be part of a church plant before joining our staff in 2004. He loves reaching and discipling men as well as equipping all believers to serve God’s kingdom. Roger is married to Mary Anne and they have three children: Stephen, Kelly, and Jake.
Jay Fennell Adult Minister - On Campus Groups
Originally from Irmo, South Carolina, Jay graduated from the University of South Carolina and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before joining our staff in January 2013, he served as the Associate Pastor for Adult Discipleship at Lexington Baptist Church in Lexington, South Carolina. On our staff, he oversees all aspects of on-campus group ministry to adults. His passion is connecting people to Jesus and helping them become more like Him as they move forward in their spiritual journeys. Jay is married to Erin and they have three children: Jack, Avery, and Mills.
Tim Holcomb Adult Minister - Mentor Relationships
Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of New Mexico, a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before he joined our staff in 2012, he served as education minister in various churches and, after 13 years with the Tennessee Baptist Convention, retired from his role as Organizational Learning Director in 2009. Tim is married to Janice and they have two sons and five grandchildren.
Care and Support
Ken CorrCongregational Care Minister
Originally from Auburn, Alabama, Ken graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctorate of Ministry degrees, and The University of Memphis with a Master of Science degree in community agency counseling. Before joining our staff in 2008, Ken was the pastor of First Baptist Church in Memphis for 12 years and served at the Church Health Center as the Congregational Relations Specialist. Currently, he's a published author and member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling.
At Brentwood Baptist, Ken's role is to work closely with individuals in need of counseling to provide assessment and referral to licensed therapists. He also provides leadership for the deacon ministry, supervision for support groups, and direction for funeral and wedding planning. Ken is married to Denise and they have four children: Zachary, Rachel, Caroline, and Charlotte.
Gayle Haywood Senior Adult/Congregational Care Minister
Gayle received her Bachelor of Science degree from Coker College in South Carolina and went on to complete her master’s degree in religious education from Wake Forest Theological Seminary in North Carolina. Since joining our staff in 1981, she's served in various ministerial roles. She began in the Preschool & Children's Ministry and today serves our senior adults and Prayer Ministry. Gayle is married to David and they have three daughters: Amy, Sara, and Laura Anne.
Amy CarterChildren's Minister
Originally from Danielsville, Georgia, Amy graduated from Emmanuel College. While there, she served as a summer missionary in Wyoming and Virginia and was a staffer and camp director for Crosspoint and CentriKid for five summers. After college, she worked at Lifeway Christian Resources as the Event Coordinator and volunteered at Brentwood Baptist before she left to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas.
Currently, she takes on the roles of teacher, mentor, mom, and more to 400 kids who come through the doors at Brentwood Baptist each week. Amy's goal is to help them understand who God is, how they can have a relationship with Him, and live their lives to reflect His glory.
Matthew PageChildren's Minister - Marketplace
A graduate of Union University, Matthew is currently a student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Previously, he served as Recreation Minister and Middle School Minister at Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee. Before his current role on staff at Brentwood Baptist, he served as Preschool Ministry Assistant and later Marketplace Director. Today, he oversees Marketplace, a multi-sensory worship environment where Bible stories come to life through dramas and activities. Matthew is married to Heather.
Yunhan GwoChinese Minister
Raised in Taiwan, in a traditional Taiwanese farmer's family, Yunhan attended Taiwan Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1978. Following a year of pastoral ministry in Taipei, he moved to the United States to attend Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated with a Master of Theology degree in 1982 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1986. From 1986-1994, he pastored a Baptist church in Taipei and taught at Taiwan Baptist Seminary. In September 1994, Yunhan and his family immigrated to America where he served as pastor of Chinese churches in Texas, Alabama, and Indiana before joining our staff in September 2011. Yunhan is married to Peichen "Rebecca" Chen. He has two daughters, Grace and Gloria, who are both married and live in America, and a grandson, Graham Chang.
Steve SmithCommunications Minister
Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Steve received his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Mercer University and a Master of Arts degree in corporate communication and technology from Rollins College. Before joining our staff in 2008, he served at First Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida as the Pastor of Media and Communication Ministries for 13 years. In the past, he's been on the National Religious Broadcasters’ Advisory Council and the Board of Directors for Exchange Ministries. Since 1992, he's been a member of the Metro Media Ministers Association and served as their past president. He's also a member of the Leadership Orlando Class of 2007 and the Leadership Brentwood Class of 2011. At Brentwood Baptist, his goal is to develop communication strategies and be the team leader and champion for a talented group of professionals in the fields of marketing and media. Steve is married to Brandi and they have two daughters, Ellie and Olivia.
Beryl CoreyDirector of Special Ministries, Deaf Church
From Jacksonville, Florida, Beryl graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications and from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a masters degree in social work and a Certificate of Theology. Before joining our staff, Beryl was a social worker with the Department of Mental Health in South Carolina with an emphasis on working with the Deaf.
Here she develops and empowers Deaf leaders through Camp SummerSign, tutorials, and biblical counseling. Beryl is married to Scott.
Steve Layton Discipleship Minister
Originally from Fultondale, Alabama, Steve received his undergraduate degree from Samford University and later graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Ministries and a Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership and Administration. Before joining our staff in 2009, he served in discipleship at First Baptist in Fultondale, First Baptist in Alexander City, Alabama, Lakeside Baptist in Birmingham, NorthPark Baptist in Trussville, Alabama, and Lifeway Christian Resources. At Brentwood Baptist, his purpose is to lead the discipleship team and volunteer leadership to equip and encourage people to journey toward Christlikeness. Steve is married to Melinda and they have five children: Kristen, Meaghan, Matthew, Michael, and John.
Aaron BryantKairos Pastor
Originally from Nashville, Aaron graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He joined our staff in 2002 and currently serves as the venue pastor during the 11:11 AM Worship Service on Sunday mornings and more. He enjoys communicating the Bible and helping people take next steps in their spiritual journey. Aaron is married to Amy and they have three children: Silas, Isaiah, and Ellis Joy.
Michael BoggsKairos/11:11 Worship Leader
Originally from Berryhill, Oklahoma, Michael went to Hillsdale Free Will Baptist Bible College. He later joined and toured with FFH, a contemporary Christian band, for several years. On staff at Brentwood Baptist, he leads worship at Kairos and manages the 11:11 Worship Service on Sunday mornings. Michael is married to Keely.
Matt Purdom Kairos Discipleship Minister
Matt graduated from Austin Peay State University (BA Corporate Communications) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. Christian Ministry). Before joining Brentwood Baptist in 2013, he served in the U.S. Army and with the Navigators, a discipleship ministry. He currently serves in the Army Reserves as a Chaplain. On staff here, he's responsible for planning, casting vision, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive discipleship strategy for young adults who attend Kairos worship services and events. Matt is married to Carey and they have three sons: Micah, Joel, and Noah.
Jim JenkinsStewardship Minister & RockBridge Foundation Director
After retiring from his first career and attending seminary, Jim joined our staff as the Single Adult Minister in 1998. Since that time he's served in a variety of roles. Not only does he serve with the RockBridge Foundation, but he also works with pastoral care teams, the new member process, and the hospitality ministry. Jim is married to Dianne and they have three sons and eight grandchildren.
Scott Harris Missions Minister
A native of San Jose, California, Scott spent part of his childhood as a missionary kid in Barbados. He later served in London and Hong Kong as a student minister and pastor. A graduate of California Baptist University and Golden Gate Theological Seminary, he currently serves as a trustee for the International Mission Board. In 2002, he joined the staff and today oversees the missions, evangelism, and church multiplication efforts of Brentwood Baptist. Scott is married to Beth and they have two children, Elizabeth and Jonathan.
Bob CarltonChurch Multiplication Minister
For more than 15 years, Bob has been in full-time ministry—and the last 12 have been spent planting churches and training church planters to multiply. Prior to becoming a church planter Bob served as a worship leader and co-pastor of the college ministry called "Encounter" at Willow Creek Community Church. During his time there, he won a Dove Award for Hard Music Album of the Year while playing with the band Massivivid. Later, he joined two other Willow Creek pastors in Austin, Texas to help plant Gateway Community Church, known for the phrase "no perfect people allowed." Before joining our staff in 2009, he helped develop and lead the Emerging Church Network with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Bob is married to Kristina.
Derek WebsterMissions Mobilization Minister
Originally from California, Derek graduated from: Colorado Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management; Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree; and University of Wales with a Master of Business Administration degree. Before joining our staff in January 2013, he served internationally as a minister, church planter, teacher, and leadership catalyst. Derek is married to Melissa and they have three sons: David, Josiah, and Benjamin.
Ray Fairchild Connection Minister
A graduate of Houston Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), Ray was a pastor in Texas for eight years before entering the mission field in 1981. For 27 years, the Fairchilds served as full-time missionaries in Brazil. There, he trained and equipped churches and pastors in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, and more. During the last 10 years of their ministry Brazil before joining our staff in 2010, more than 300 Brentwood Baptist members served with them through mission journeys. Ray is married to Sharon and they have three sons: Michael, David, and Stephen.
Sharon Fairchild Mission Journey Minister
Vicki HowellCommunity Missions Minister
Originally from Cairo, Georgia, Vicki graduated from Belmont University (BBA in Hospitality Entertainment) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. Christian Education). In the past, she's worked with LifeWay student events, Colorado Christian University, Thirst Missions, and International World Changers—connecting people to ministry and missions, locally and internationally. She's also served as the Assistant Director of the Mustard Seed Preschool Program at Christ Community Church and as Assistant to the Fashion and Apparel Buyer for Gaylord Properties at Gaylord Opryland Hotel. She joined our Missions Ministry in April 2013 to help connect our members to local and community missions opportunities. Vicki is married to Tony.

Dennis WorleyMusic & Worship Minister
Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Dennis graduated from Baylor University and later moved to Nashville to work in the Christian music industry. In 1993, he left his career as a producer to join our staff along with his ministry partner and wife, Karla. Since then, he's focused on making every Sunday an unforgettable worship experience for everyone and he's led the Music & Worship Ministry in community outreach events, several CD recording projects, and more. Dennis and Karla have three sons—Seth, Matt, and Ben—and one grandson.
Mike Lawrence Music & Worship Instrumental Minister
From West Monroe, Louisiana, Mike attended and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a music education degree. Before joining our staff in 1995, he worked at Word Music for 10 years as a producer, editor, arranger, and orchestrator. In the past, he's spent 12 years on a marching and symphonic band, six years as a drum major of a marching band, and was the church orchestra director, youth choir director, and student minister as his home church in Louisiana.
At Brentwood Baptist, his purpose is to connect people to Christ through instrumental music. Mike is married to Melanie and they have three children: Jacob, Joshua, and Hope.
Cliff DurenMusic & Worship Associate Minister
Originally from Georgia, Cliff graduated from Shorter University with a music education degree and from Lee University with a masters degree in church music. Before he came on our staff in 2012, he served as the Staff Arranger at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia for six years. During that time, he was nominated for five Dove Awards. In addition to leading worship to Brentwood Baptist on Sundays, he also arranges, orchestrates, and produces music resources for various publishers and produces multiple artist recordings. Cliff is married to April and they have three children: Mac, Sydney, and Emma Kate.
Ann EdwardsPreschool Minister
Before joining our staff, Ann served for 25 years as a Preschool Specialist in Training and Events at Lifeway Christian Resources. Prior to Lifeway, she served in Preschool Ministries at churches in Montgomery, Alabama and Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Judson College and a Master of Religious Education degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Her background includes writing curriculum, training resources, and how-to books for teachers and leaders. Ann is married to Bruce Edwards and they live in Nashville.

Linc TaylorStudent Minister
Born in Nashville, Linc graduated from Carson-Newman College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he's worked in student ministry for the last 24 years. Before joining our staff in 2006, he served at churches in Texas, Kentucky, and Georgia. Linc's passion is to cast vision and give strategic thought to developing students into leaders. When he's not leading our own students, he travels the country to train other church staff and laity in reaching, teaching, and mobilizing students into places of leadership and missions. Linc is married to JoEllen and they have three girls: Grace, Joy Beth, and Lynna.
Amy-Jo GirardierGirls Minister/Student Missions Coordinator
Originally from Springfield, Illinois, Amy-Jo graduated from Southwest Baptist University (2000) and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Masters in Christian Education). Before joining our staff in 2003, she served with the Tennessee Baptist Convention and National WMU as the onsite coordinator for global teen girls missions events. She's also served in other ministry roles with Ilinois WMU Girls Camp, First Baptist Church Bolivar, Fielder Road Baptist Church, See You at The Pole, and Centrifuge. She's the founding editor of www.girlsminister.com and contributes to youthministry360.com, faithvillage.com, and the capture book project. She's authored the Lifeway Centrifuge Student Bible study, The Underground, "Becoming" from Just Like Christ series, and Proof: A 6 lesson Study on The Book of John (co-author). Amy-Jo is married to Darrel and they have a son, Scout.
Chris BlantonMiddle School Minister
Originally from Lawrenceville, Georgia, Chris graduated from Liberty University in Virginia. Before joining our staff in 2007, he served for four years in student ministry at a church in Lawrenceville. Chris is married to Mary Lindsey and they have five children.
