Governance Trustees

The Trustees of Brentwood Baptist Church serve as a lay leadership team elected by, and accountable to, the Members. The Trustees are empowered by the Members to ensure alignment of ministries with the Church’s mission and vision, to give oversight to the ongoing operations of the Church, and to provide counsel and support to the Senior Pastor.

STATEMENT OF FAITH: "Jesus is the only hope that I know. Life is found in Him alone. Jesus died and rose to give us this life, conquering sin and its consequence of death through the cross and the resurrection. He saved me at 14 and I've been striving since to live a life of submission and obedience, assuming a humble posture, attentively listening to the voice of God, and obeying His call."

SERVICE AT BRENTWOOD BAPTIST: Over the past 22 years, I have been involved in Children’s Choir, Preschool Sunday School Teacher, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and active in Bible Study Groups. Presently I am serving in my 7th year as Nurture Team Leader. I also serve on the Pastoral Care Committee of Siloam Family Health Center (Hope for the World Partner) and volunteer there weekly.

STATEMENT OF FAITH: I believe in the one true God who reveals Himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Because I accept the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and have faith in Him, I look forward to eternal life with Him. He is Lord of my life and I desire to bring glory, honor, and praise to Him alone.

STATEMENT OF FAITH: At age nine, I accepted Christ as my Savior and was baptized. But it wasn't until my mid-20s that I began to understand what it means to live out my faith. Today, with Christ as my foundation, God's Word as my guide, and this community of faith as my companions, I strive to grow in Christ's image through every season.

STATEMENT OF FAITH: I was raised in a Christian home in the Southern Baptist denomination. I accepted Christ as my savior and invited Him into my life at age 10. As a young adult, I drifted away from Christ in pursuit of worldly possessions and passions. When Karole and I married, we agreed that we wanted Christ to have an active role in our life particularly as we became parents. In the early 1990’s my faith was tested and I turned my life more than ever to Christ and He gave me the strength to walk through some challenging times. Subsequently, my faith continues to be reinforced, as I trust in the Lord for wisdom, strength, guidance and purpose.

STATEMENT OF FAITH: I believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son who lived as a human and died as the atonement for the sins of all who believe in Him and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. I believe Jesus rose from the dead and lives today as the only way to receive eternal life. As a Christian, the Holy Spirit lives in me and empowers me to live according to Christ's teachings.

STATEMENT OF FAITH: I received Jesus as my Savior and was baptized in August 1947. In 1956, I answered God's call to enter pastoral ministry (25 years served). There is only one true God. His son, Jesus Christ, lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death on the cross, arose from the grave, and will one day return. The church is the body of Christ who has been called to proclaim Jesus to a lost world. I believe in the priesthood of the believer and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

STATEMENT OF FAITH: "It's by the eternal grace and mercy of Jesus Christ that I'm saved from this world. God has provided for me an avenue and path to escape from Satan's lies and schemes. I struggle, as all believers do, in keeping my focus on Christ in my daily walk. However, God tells us in Ephesians 6:11-13 to "put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the devil." I hold on to this truth knowing He'll be with me and I can celebrate victory in His name."

STATEMENT OF FAITH:I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save me from my sins. He is perfect, holy, just and good. He is the beginning and the end. He is my personal savior and I seek his guidance and will in everything I do. My hopes, prayers and desires are that we, as a church, can bring the lost to him so that they can lay down their burdens at his feet and enjoy the wonderful things he has in store for them.
