BackStudent Prayer Team
Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the Lord. Do not give Him rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth. —Isaiah 62:6-7 (HCSB)
When God established Jerusalem, He placed watchmen on the walls surrounding the city. They looked out for approaching enemies and were charged to “remind the Lord” to “make us a city of praise on the earth.”
You are Brentwood Baptist watchmen standing on the wall, committed to encourage and pray for our students by name, asking for strength, wisdom, and purity so they'll make much of Him with their lives.
Daily Focus Words
There are daily focus words to help direct your prayers each day. Those words are Identity, Relationships, Character, Purpose, Servant Leadership, Absolute Truth, and Influence. These areas are emphasized to our students in their Sunday and Wednesday night Bible Study. The scripture below will help guide your prayers because each Scripture reference has been selected to coincide with the daily focus words. These scriptures will help you in your prayer time. You may also want to download the bookmark so you can print it yourself.
I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. -Psalms 139:14
"I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me." -John 15:5
I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh -Galatians 5:16
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. "The second is: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these." -Mark 12:30-31
Thursday: Servant Leadership
Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; I wait for You all day long. -Psalms 25:5
Friday: Absolute Truth
"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left. -Matthew 25:31-33
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, -Matthew 28:19
