Back Kairos and Brentwood Baptist Young Adult Ministries to host annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner
October 23rd, 2009
Gingerbread lattes have made their way back on the menu at Starbucks—even our own Connection Café is serving seasonal flavors. Pumpkin cheesecake is stocked in restaurants throughout Nashville. And there’s a chill in the air that’s making everyone excited to welcome the month of November.
The holidays are officially upon us. It also means the annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner, hosted by Kairos and Young Adult Ministries of Brentwood Baptist Church, is just around the corner.
On Sunday, November 22 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Wilson Hall, these two ministries will welcome hundred of young adults, between the ages of 18 and 35, who are involved with them each week.
Cathy Patterson, Kairos Minister, said, “This is a unique opportunity for us to bring our young adults together to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. It’ll be a fun, safe place for them to come and connect with others. When it all comes down to it, the young adults who walk through our doors are a part of our family and we want to celebrate with them.”
These two Brentwood Baptist ministries will provide the turkey and drinks while those who attend are asked to bring their favorite side dish or dessert to line the tables and share with others. To wrap up the dinner, young adults are encouraged to bring their favorite board games to play as a get-to-know-you activity.
Cathy said, “One of the most important aspects we want them to learn in their spiritual walk is giving thanks to God for what He’s done for us—on the cross and in our lives—and what He’s going to do. This is the perfect place for them to come and build community with old and new friends, celebrate who God is, and strengthen the bond that ties them together as God’s children.”
To reserve your spot, contact Keely Boggs, Kairos IMPACT Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org before Wednesday, November 11 at noon. When you RSVP, please include what side dish or dessert you are bringing with you.
