Day 1: September 25
Our first day with the MDU at Church of the Messiah was great! We had all new medical and dental volunteers.

Two hygienists saw eight patients—and all of this even with equipment malfunctions. Dr. Kevin West, an oral surgeon and member of our church, came for a few hours. He brought 4 assistants, saw 8 patients, and pulled 10 teeth. And one nurse completed more than 30 health screenings. Everyone was so appreciative.

One lady had just come from the health department where she'd been turned away. She just happened to to drive by the church and saw our Medical Dental Unit. She came in and had her tooth pulled—and she was in tears as she expressed her appreciation!

We're meeting a great need, and God is using this ministry already to touch so many people.

Day 2: September 26
I'm so thankful that our church has this ministry—and I'm so blessed to be a part of it. It was another great day at Church of the Messiah! We're exhausted but filled with joy.

We're only one part of this health fair, but here's what our volunteers did today:
• Our nurses completed more than 50 medical screenings and were able to do some patient teaching with many who really needed it.
• Our dentist and dental team saw 17 patients and pulled 36 teeth.
• One man was in the dental chair for more than an hour with a difficult extraction. He walked out shouting, "You guys are heroes! Thank you!"

What a privilege we have to serve people and our Lord!

The dentist who volunteered yesterday wrote me last night: "Thank you so much for allowing my team to participate today. It truly was a blessing for all of us. It's phenomenal to see our church provide such a powerful tool for God. Again, thanks for allowing us to experience it. We look forward to next time."

And just think, this is only the beginning!

Day 3: September 27
What a wonderful experience to work together with other churches and believers to reach others for Christ right here in Nashville!

Here are the totals from the week:
• 100+ medical screenings
• 68 teeth pulled
• 55 dental patients
• 29 Brentwood Baptist volunteers served
• 19 decisions for Christ
• 17 dental cleanings
• 17 re-dedications to Christ

Stefanie Massey, a dental hygienist, said her favorite part is getting to help people right here in her own city!

We made some contacts for future events. One was a Burmese pastor telling us about all the Burmese people in Nashville. We're looking to partner with his church for a Burmese outreach—reaching the nations right here in Nashville!
