Back Students head to Fall Retreat in Kentucky
November 6th, 2013
By Linc Taylor, Student Minister
On November 22-24, our Brentwood Baptist Church Student Ministry will be traveling to Jonathan Creek in Hardin, Kentucky for our annual Fall Retreat (Grades 7-12).
This catalyst retreat has paved the way for spiritual transformation in student’s lives for over 10 years through the monumental worship, fellowship, and small group ministry that has become intricate pieces of the event.
By threading the Student Ministry’s four foundations (worship, journey, belong, and move) into each aspect of the retreat, we prayerfully place them in intentional environments to move them towards a life of Christ-likeness.
Consistently, we’re hearing testimony of the impact that this retreat has had on the student’s lives. Our Student Ministry team believes that taking students away from all distractions and being completely submersed in biblical community for an extended period of time yields an incredible response to the message of Jesus Christ.
This year, we’ll be focusing on 1 Thessalonians 1:8, discussing what our student’s lives are echoing on a daily basis. As Christ-followers, we’ve been called to reflect and echo the life of Christ. In doing this, students have the opportunity to impact their schools and communities by echoing out the life of Christ in the way they live their daily lives.
In addition, this year we’ll be hosting worship leader Dave Hunt, who has led on multiple catalyst events over the years with Brentwood Baptist Church. Dave’s heart for worship and students has consistently inspired and exemplified the realm of godly worship in our student’s lives.
We highly encourage each student to be apart of this transformational event. Fall Retreat has proved time and time again to be an incredible life changing and community building event for the Student Ministry. This will not be an event that your student will want to miss!
WORSHIP God with awe and wonder (Psalm 33:8).
JOURNEY forward in knowing Christ (Philippians 3:10).
BELONG to a consistent biblical community (Acts 2:42).
MOVE where God is sending you (Acts 1:8).
