Back Transit Trip Recap: Spa Night at The Next Door
May 12th, 2014
By Caryn Collier, Missions Volunteer
The women were so very excited to see us and loved the set-up of different stations!
We had five "jewels" of different colors on four placemats. When they arrived, they picked a "jewel" from the station they wanted to first visit—manicures, facials, makeup, and make-your-own body lotion.
Volunteers brought table cloths, cups, plates, and several bunches of fresh flowers to decorate (which we gave to the women when we left), brownies, cookies, fresh fruit, nuts, chips, chocolate dipped strawberries, and ice water with citrus.
There was a lot of chatting, laughing, and love being passed around that room. What an amazing experience! The women were very friendly and appreciative. They expressed how grateful they are for the ministry of The Next Door and asked us to come back soon, which we hope to do.
At the end of the evening, as the ladies started to go back to their rooms, we gave them a pretty goodie bag that one of our volunteers put together. It included a nail file, polish, chocolate, and a devotional booklet.
All the volunteers felt so grateful to be a part of this event. It was such a blessing to BE a blessing to these wonderful women.
