Kairos News Kairos summer nights continue with the start of a new series
July 13th, 2010
Tuesday nights in June and July have been unique and somewhat of a surprise for many who got to see Kairos jump out of its normal routine and into some new summer shoes.
It all started with Kairos Night of Service on June 8. Those who attended were asked to move into action right then and there to write letters to military and widows, grab supplies for local ministries, help Brentwood Baptist ministries, and more. (Read the full story here.)
On June 22, Kairos hosted a Night of Worship, inviting back all the worship leaders who've led on Tuesday nights over the last two years. Worship VJ Stephen Proctor also joined the crew to do environmental projection. The set list included favorite worship songs, a few powerful videos, a message from Mike Glenn, and a time of prayer for healing. (Read the full story here.)
Just two weeks ago, on June 29, Priscilla Shirer, well-known author, speaker, and Bible teacher, took the stage to encourage Kairos goers to seize the moment, not miss where God has them right now, and sow the seeds now that you'll want to reap one day soon. Anthony Evans, her brother and a regular Kairos worship leader, led an incredible time of worship.
The next week, on July 6, Kairos went outside for "Kairos Under the Stars." The successful event, that took place on the front lawn at Brentwood Baptist, was complete with lawn chair and blanket lounging, an intimate worship experience, and a message from Mike. Afterward, attenders enjoyed ice cream and an open mic night.
Tonight, Mike starts a new five-week sermon series called Summer of Love 3: Wrecking Ball. In this third year of discussion on relationships, Mike will be talking about relationship issues that affect us all, both single and married. He'll address impossible expectations, false intimacy, infidelity, money and power issues, and more. Go here to join a Kairos Intersect Group that will complement this series.
Summer's not over yet. Don't miss what's coming up.
