Kairos News Night of Worship focuses on the Word of God
November 18th, 2011
On Tuesday, November 15, Kairos featured a Night of Worship (NOW) that focused on the Word of God through art, music, the written word, language, visually, and more.
Haley Hamilton took the stage before the worship service began at 7:00 p.m. to open with an acoustic set as attenders were ushered in, observing the artwork displayed prominently throughout Hudson Hall that magnified Scripture.
Once the service started, worship through song erupted with complementary videos sprinkled throughout.
While Nate Griffin, a professional artist, painted the face of Jesus on a canvas displayed next to the stage, the Kairos crowd lifted up praise with songs such as "Mighty to Save," "Revelation Song," "True Love," "Christ is Risen," "Your Great Name," "In Christ Alone," "Hosanna," "All My Fountains," "Forever Reign," "The Stand," and "Our God."
Injected into the mix was an intense prayer time led by Karla Worley, using the words of David, Paul, Jesus, and others in the Bible as a guide. Scripture was read from the stage in Spanish, French, Portuguese, and American Sign Language, followed by a short message from Mike on the confidence we can have in taking God at His word.
To close the service, Kairos attenders received a copy of the Gospel of John as they exited the room with a charge to read it through and focus on the truth and importance of God's Word in their lives.
