Kairos News Kairos hosts potluck-style Thanksgiving feast
November 21st, 2011
What are you thankful for? We can tell you what nearly 100 in the Kairos family are grateful for—the Thanksgiving feast hosted on Sunday, November 20 at 6:00 p.m. in Hudson Hall, the same place they meet each week to worship together.
Tables were set up and lined with traditional favorites. Kairos provided turkey and drinks, while those in attendance brought in large, potluck-style side items and desserts. Turkey, casseroles, sweet potatoes, veggies, rolls, and the results of other family recipes were stacked three inches deep on plastic plates before being devoured. And most made a second trip to the dessert table to fill up on pies, ice cream, and other sweet treats after round one.
Table games and a finale Thanksgiving trivia quiz were played, complete with prizes living in an oversized cornucopia that found a home in the arms of Kairos Pastor Aaron Bryant most of the evening. And what kind of ministry would host a Thanksgiving dinner without showing A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on the big screens? Not Kairos.
For those grateful hearts that came, it was a time of celebration before the big day on November 24—the perfect opportunity to gather with their church family and give thanks for who Jesus is, what He's done, and so much more.
