Cathy Patterson, Kairos Minister

Some would call her a woman who wears many hats—some more colorful than others. Right now, Cathy is a leader in the community, a minister at Brentwood Baptist, a visionary in reaching people for Christ, and a mentor, friend, counselor, and encourager, among other things, to more than 1,000 young adults each week who attend Kairos, a mid-week, modern worship experience at Brentwood Baptist.
Born in Tampa, Florida, Cathy’s journey began when she was seven years old—the age she surrendered her life to God and began to follow him. Growing up as a pastor’s kid, she didn’t follow the stereotypical path of some PKs. Early on, God called her to a life of full-time service to Him and she didn’t stray from that mission. Since then, God’s taken her on an incredible journey.
Over the years, she’s served on staff at several churches in the Nashville area and at the Baptist Sunday School Board (currently known as LifeWay Christian Resources). Today, God is using the passions and gifts he’s given her to lead and flourish the Kairos Ministry at Brentwood Baptist, where she has served for 10 years.
Cathy and her husband, Jackson, have been married for 31 years and reside in Franklin, Tennessee. They have two children, Rachael and Alex. In her spare time, Cathy loves to read and play video games.
