    Carter Baptist Women

The Carter Baptist Women meet the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in a member’s home. The group’s primary goals are missions service and missions education.

Each month the women participate in a different mission action project…

In the area of international missions, the group has sponsored several projects related to the work of the Scott Carter family, missionaries from Brentwood Baptist to southeast Asia for whom the group is named. Our group has provided birthday and baby gifts for the Carters, hosted a reception for the Carters while they were in the States last, helped with special ministry needs, and participated in mission trips to their country.

The group also supports BBC international mission trips.

We have provided hats, gloves, and socks for mission trips to orphanages in Moldova and medical supplies for the annual Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, mission trip.

The Carter Baptist Women also support local mission organizations and ministries.

In the past we have collected toiletries for the Christian Women’s Job Corps, canned food for Graceworks, and school supplies for the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home. Members have also worked at The Manger sponsored by Graceworks.

We have an ongoing relationship with the Brentwood Baptist Deaf Church, and several projects a year are focused on helping meet needs of that congregation, particularly the needs of the children. We have provided beach towels and goggles for children attending a summer camp, school supplies, and Christmas stockings or bags. At Easter and Thanksgiving we provide food baskets for a few of the deaf congregation families.

New members are always welcomed and encouraged to join us on mission. For additional information about projects and meeting places, please contact Mildred Hoppe at 776-1210 or Susan Carter at 595-1495.
