For Parents

While we work hard to provide an environment and tool with which your children can learn and grow close to Christ, we also strongly believe that parents were intended to be the chief disciplers in a child’s life.

So we’re not here to create a calendar full of programs that separate parents from children. Instead, we want to create conversations and provide tools for kids and adults that can be used in the home to worship, learn, and serve together.

Learn more about what we believe, and discover opportunities for you to grow as a parent and expand the spiritual growth of both you and your child.

  • What We Believe

”These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.“ — Deuteronomy 6:7 (HCSB)

The mission of Brentwood Baptist Church is to connect our families to Christ by creating a culture and establishing venues in which our families are fully engaged with the calling to disciple their children to spiritual maturity. The homes of our parents should become ministry centers. Therefore, we must support, equip, and encourage parents.

    We want our families to…

    • Love God as a Way of Life (worship) Romans 12:1-2
    • Love others as a way of life (service) Mark 10:45
    • Love the church & understand his/her role in the body of Christ (community) Ephesians 4:4-7
    • Love the Bible and handle it properly as the authority and foundation for life (Scripture). 2 Tim. 3:15-17
    • Love to share God’s story (the gospel) and their story (testimony) and be ready to engage others in their story (evangelism). Romans 10:14-15
    • Love to grow closer to God through personal spiritual disciplines such as prayer and personal Bible Study (discipleship). 1 Timothy 4:7-12

This is why we work hard to synchronize our ministry efforts for children around one master plan in an effort to build faith and character for our sons and daughters. We also work hard to connect these teachings to the home by providing resources that go beyond the church walls or the seat of the minivan and into the home. We work with our Missions team and our Worship team to provide opportunities that allow families to serve and worship together.

At the end of the day it's our prayer that families are able to learn from one another and grow together as they make Christ the center of their home.

  • Other Ways for Kids to Learn

    • Mommy and Me

Studies show that exposure to music in an intentional way can bring great benefit to infants and toddlers. Plus, what mom could pass up a chance to giggle and crawl around the floor with their little one? That’s why we have Mommy and Me, a six-week class designed to strengthen the bond between Mommy and child through music and movement.

There are Mommy and Me classes for infants through 5 years old.
