PLACE is a six hour class (and a one-and-a-half to two hour consultation) that helps you discover your giftedness and how to relate to the giftedness of others. PLACE will help you better understand your God-given traits, learn to apply them in ministry, and use them to develop a purposeful mission statement.
What if Peter had recorded the Ten Commandments and Moses had been asked to walk on water? We might have some loophole clauses in the Thou Shalt Nots and somebody would still be sitting in the boat. God had a plan when He created YOU and He wired you accordingly. He made no mistakes. It is God’s purpose that you continue His plan here on earth, so do you honestly believe that He would have haphazardly put you together? No Way! It’s His work that you are doing and He carefully designed you for a specific part of the plan.
You have gifts and abilities this church needs! That's why God led you to Brentwood Baptist. We're serious when we say, "Every member is a minister." PLACE will help you connect with God's ministry assignment. Participate in a class with other believers and experience a church that worships God and joins Him in His work.

Michele DyerPLACE Ministry Coordinatorl
Campus: Kairos & Station Hill
PLACE Ministry Coordinator for Kairos and Station Hill
Born and raised in the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado, Michele graduated from Colorado Christian University with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Her career path for the following 15 years led her to discover that her passion lies with developing people, and helping individuals to uncover what God has uniquely created them to do through His power and purpose. After moving to Nashville in 2008, Michele joined the PLACE ministry staff in 2008, and now oversees the PLACE Ministry program for Brentwood Baptist Church, The Church at Station Hill and the Kairos Ministry. Michele is married to John, and they have two sons—Alec and Caedon.
Receptionist at BBC (current); previously served as Patient Advocate @ VA Medical Center(retired) and as college guidance counselor @ Aquinas Junior College.
When I retired from my professional career, there remained a desire to still be a helping professional, albeit in a less stressful venue. With the encouragement of Jim Jenkins and Lisa Baker, I agreed to be trained as a Place Coach. It has been a most rewarding experience for me. It is a great privilege to help persons understand more about themselves. I particularly like to provide helps for those persons desiring spiritual growth in specified areas. Being a Place Coach is God’s gift to me at this point in my life.
Aimee FletcherPLACE Administrator
Campus: Station Hill
PLACE Administrator and Connection Coach for Station Hill
After moving with my parents as a child from New Orleans, Aimee grew up in northern Alabama. She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders with a focus in Psychology. Early in 2011 my family and I relocated to Thompsons Station and shortly thereafter started attending The Church at Station Hill. Upon discovering how God uniquely created her she gained a confidence and began seeing herself and others in her life differently. Since then Aimee has developed a passion to explore and share with others what their God given gifts and traits may be! Recently she has joined the PLACE staff as the Administrator for the Station Hill campus. Aimee is married to James, and they have two sons - Noah and Nash.
"I hold the PLACE ministry very close to my heart. I know the difference it has made within me and my relationship with God. I value tremendously the difference it has made in my marriage. Understanding and knowing what my gifts are I am better able to serve God in my daily life. The sense of peace and fulfillment that comes along with that is priceless. I found my passion and place to connect and I am so excited to welcome and encourage our new members."
I am an Arkansas transplant who now makes home in Franklin near two of my three children and all six of my grandchildren. I received my BSE in Education from Arkansas State University and earned my MS in School Counseling from Tennessee State University.
When I became a member of BBC 7 years ago, I was experiencing a very difficult time in my life. Through my PLACE journey I have realized that God was preparing me to use those life experiences to encourage and support others in their search to find their place.
Nancy KayPLACE Facilitator/Coach
I took the PLACE class several years ago out of a desire to know myself better. I have always been drawn to the study of Psychology and personalities. The PLACE class helped me to connect all the dots and know myself as God made me. He made me unique in my own way for His purpose. I found the role as a facilitator for the PLACE six week class and now the role of Coaching to be one of the most rewarding and fulfilling "jobs" I've ever had. I can't wait to get to class and help introduce each participant to themselves.
Sharon WegmanConnections Coach
Admin. Asst., AMSURG
Working with PLACE provides an invigorating ministry for me as an I/C personality. I will leave work tired from the day but ready for a PLACE session and the experience of sharing with a new member rejuvenates me. Usually I come away from the experience having learned more about ways to relate to individuals about God and his interactions in their lives than I possibly give to them. It is a blessing I try never to take for granted when I see the ways God prepares new members to learn more about themselves and to prepare to serve. I have truly found my “Place” in His service.
Ken ParkerFacilitator and Coach
Campus: Station Hill
I grew up in Texas where I went to college and seminary. I served as associate pastor for five years at a church near Houston. My wife Kay and I moved to Nashville in 1978 for me to work at what is now LifeWay Christian Resources. I served there in various roles until 2000 when I became pastor of a church in Franklin. After my retirement at the end of July, 2012, God led us to Station Hill. We have a daughter and son-in-law (Amy and John) who have twin daughters and a son and daughter-in-law (Nathan and Morgan) who have a son and daughter. We have lived in Spring Hill since 2010.
Meredith Joy WheatleyKairos Place Liaison and coach for Kairos PLACE
Kairos Connection Coordinator
I am a local girl from from Franklin, TN. I have a VERY diverse background in multiple degrees from multiple schools. I always struggled somewhat with career path and purpose and it wasn't until I took PLACE that I found confidence in myself and how God specifically created me! I see myself differently and I have been inspired since then to help others learn more about themselves and to be joyful in how they are made by our Creator. There is no better gift than learning more about how your creator designed you and embracing His purpose for your life.
Dr. Thomas F. McMinn, Jr.PLACE Coach
Life/Career Transition Coach for Kenetic Coaching
Since coming to BBC from Texas in 1975, I have always desired to help new Christians and new members discover their place of service in God's family new member orientation. When we moved to the new campus and PLACE became the "New Member Orientation," I discovered a more powerful way for individuals to claim their place of service in God's ministry by discovering themselves and how God purposed them for His kingdom. After early retirement from a profession career, I asked God to give me a new field of mission and purpose. Since my life statement is "helping people become their full potential for God," PLACE seemed to be the answer. It is an honor to work with God to help individuals discover God's leadership in their lives. This gives me great joy!
Dr. Richard R. MuFacilitator (Teacher) and Coach
Professor of Physics, Fisk University - Adjoint Professor of Physics, Vanderbilt University
Born and raised in a very remote village of China. He was blessed to have opportunity to go to college in China and then came to US for his master and PhD degrees. While working at Universities, where discovering undergrads and grads talents and mentoring them to achieve their best are his passion, he was found by the Lord and realized only God can provide the absolute truth and righteous answers to all. With the empowerment of the PLACE ministry at BBC, Richard is able to connect people to God effectively through the tools that PLACE provided and helps people to achieve the ultimate purpose that God has planned each one by His careful and special design for us to accomplish in this world.
Emily BordersPLACE Coach
French Teacher, Brentwood Academy
Born and raised right here in Brentwood, Tennessee, Emily graduated from Baylor University with a degree in French. For the next six years she returned to Middle Tennessee to pursue a career in educational fundraising. Always one for a little adventure, Emily quit her job to move to Paris, France, in 2010. After a year and a half abroad, she found herself back in Brentwood and working for the Kairos Ministry for two years. She now teaches French at Brentwood Academy. Her curious nature and heart for encouragement led her to become a PLACE Coach. She looks forward to helping others discover and embrace how God uniquely designed them.
Senior Technical Applications Specialist
It is a privilege to intersect in people's lives and help them discover how God created them using the PLACE process. To know that there are millions of people around us yet each created so uniquely that only we could do the job God created for us is both empowering and humbling. I want people to understand who they are in Christ and the power associated with their unique abilities, talents and gifts and then watch them soar in their lives to advance the kingdom. This is the power and joy found in PLACE.
