  • DivorceCare

Divorce… You don’t have to go through it alone.

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

Brentwood Baptist Church, through the Congregational Care Ministry, is proud to host DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids. These groups are scheduled throughout the year and require registration by emailing divorcecare@brentwoodbaptist.com.

It is ideally suited for those looking to resume growth in their prayer, missions, and relationship with Christ.

  • Sterling Service Tea

Cancer has touched us all in one way or another, whether it be directly or indirectly through a spouse, a parent, a child or a friend. Sterling Service Tea Ministry offers the women of Middle Tennessee a place to come and connect with women who are on a similar journey. This is a special time of pampering, honoring and ministering comfort/healing to a woman's heart - giving each woman a chance to forget about their pain for a few hours and connect with other women in a warm and inviting setting — a Tea Party.

You are welcome to join us for a Sterling Service Tea where women's hearts are touched by the love of Christ. There are also opportunities to serve through this ministry. This ministry is by reservation only. Please contact Beth Gurley at beth@bethgurley.com if you would like to attend our next tea or if you would like to serve in any capacity.

  • H.O.P.E. Workshop

H.O.P.E. (helping overcome painful experiences) is a weekend workshop with a follow-up support group for anyone dealing with loss (grief from loss of a loved one, job, marriage, etc.). We offer these workshops several times a year.

For information on the next workshop and registration, please visit the Caring Resources web site at: www.caringresources.com. You may also call Caring Resources for more details at 573-5061.

H.O.P.E. = Helping Overcome Painful Experiences

“If only things had been different.”

“If only I had done more!”

Are these thoughts an ongoing part of your life? Have you lost dreams, a loved one, relationships, job, home, health, financial security?

Caring Resources invites you to participate in HOPE Workshop to regain hope, focus, and perspective in your life. HOPE is a Biblically-based workshop that guides participants in a process to help:

    • Eliminate the sense of hopelessness
    • Learn to identify loss and disappointment
    • Discover tools to appropriately deal with unhealthy relationships
    • Become equipped to compassionately help others deal with difficult situations

What participants say about HOPE Workshops:

“You come out of the HOPE Workshop having tools that you can use for the rest of your life.” — Roger

“The teaching was excellent.” — Kathy

    “Expect a breakthrough! I got mine—expect a breakthrough.” — Regina

    Caregiving Worshops

Baby boomers caring for aging parents find themselves overwhelmed with their circumstances and confused about their resources.

Attend the seminar Help! Am I the Parent Now? to learn strategies that will enable you to be the caregiver you want to be without sacrificing your family, your health, or your own identity.

Help! Am I the Parent Now? is an opportunity to:

    • Evaluate your situation realistically.
    • Equip you in dealing more effectively with the emotional and spiritual aspects of aging and debilitating disease.
    • Learn the effects of loss to the caregiver, the care receiver, and family members.
    • Discover the proper perspective of role reversal.
    • Discuss the responsibility of caregiving—are you doing too much or not enough?
    • Learn communication tips to ease the frustration of dealing with difficult care receivers.
