Prayer

God desires to hear our prayers. It’s how we communicate with Him. He wants us to pray as individuals and together as we bring to Him our praises, our concerns, our minds, and our hearts.

Brentwood Baptist wants to pray for you and with you. If you have a prayer request, please let us know. We have teams praying each day, often around the clock for the requests we receive. You can...

  1. Submit your request online
  2. E-mail your prayer request
  3. Call us at 615.324.PRAY

And learn more about the many ways you can join us as we pray together for one another, our community, our county, and our world.

    X17

The X17 Team is based on the story in Exodus 17.

Aaron and Hur helped hold up Moses’ hands during the battle. As long as his hands were elevated, the Israelites won the battle. But when his arms became tired and dropped, the Israelites lost the battle. With Aaron’s and Hur’s help, Moses led Israel to defeat the Amalekites.

Mike Glenn has asked people who have a significant commitment to prayer to join this team in praying for him and the other worship leaders during our services on Sunday mornings. Many of the issues we face in our church are spiritual issues, and as such, require spiritual answers.

The X17 Team gathers in the choir room every Sunday and is committed to pray as both worship services take place. If you feel called to participate in this vital ministry, then you are most welcome.

    P.I.T. Crew

The idea of a personal intercessory prayer team for pastors and Christian leaders is not new. Moses, Aaron, and Hur served as an intercessory prayer team for Joshua in the battle of Amalek (Exodus 17). An intercessory prayer team made the difference between victory and defeat for Joshua and for the nation of Israel.

In the New Testament, Jesus prayed for Simon Peter. Jesus said, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail.” Satan still desires to sift pastors and Christian leaders like wheat. As Jesus did, we must pray for leaders that they will not become discouraged or disheartened.

    The Lighthouse Prayer Ministry

The Lighthouse Prayer Ministry consists of people who are committed to intentionally pray for, care for and share the gospel with individuals in their neighborhood or community. Participants commit to pray for five neighbors, for five days a week, for five weeks. To designate your home as a Lighthouse of prayer, contact prayerrequests@brentwoodbaptist.com.

    Missions Prayer and Share
