- Following lunch, we will introduce 6th Grade families to the Student Ministry
I need you to do two things:
- RSVP by completing the form below, or contact Julia Kasick by Wed. Aug. 7
- Be sure to tell / invite the other families of 6th Grade students to join you...

Sunday Bible Study
--options and info for Sundays--
There are three options for getting involved on Sundays:
8:00am - The Breakfast Club meets in the Connection Room 1002 at 8am. This early morning Bible study is specifically for middle school students, 6th-8th grade.
9:30-10:30 AM | Hudson Hall - All students gather for an introduction and examination of the truth we're exploring that day. From there, sixth graders move to breakout groups that meet in Connection Center rooms. During this time, students focus on a more in-depth look at applying God's Word to their lives. This is our largest gathering of students on Sunday.
11:00am - The 11:00 group meets in the Connection Room 1002 at 11:00am. This morning Bible study includes students in 6th-12th grade.
Throughout this year we will be using LifeWay's newest student curriculum, KNOWN. The focus is simple: KNOW God more. OWN your faith. Make Him KNOWN. I invite you to check out the KNOWN website. There are various tools and resources there for you, including weekly parent and student podcasts. Each Bible Study hour does the same lesson.
Wednesday LIFE Groups
--info about our small groups--
Small groups are a vital part of Brentwood Baptist Church. Each Wednesday night hundreds of students gather for worship and LifeGroups in the Connection Center. LifeGroups are grade and gender specific, which allows students to open up as they explore God's Word, study specific life issues, and build deep friendships. The foundation for our 6th grade LifeGroups is identity. LifeGroups start at 6:15pm each Wednesday and end by 7:45pm.
JourneyOn! for Students
--the 7-year strategy for your student--
JourneyOn! is our strategy for helping shape, guide, and move students towards a Christ-centered life. Each year, through LifeGroups, Sunday AM, worship, and ministry opportunities, we make the most of life's natural mile markers by merging student's questions and discussions into specific lanes by giving them biblically based answers. Journey On is the name of our discipleship emphasis here at BBC. Our hope is to meet students where they are, moving them forward to a Christ-centered life in a way best suited for their unique stage of life. Our students will have the opportunity, with their leaders, to discuss their faith in the context of foundational truths, spiritual disciplines, and "hot topics". These conversations will take place with a small group of their peers, friends who are making the journey with them. Life is often shaky but we want students to know that our relationship with Christ gives us a solid foundation.
During your child's seven years in the Student Ministry, they will explore these foundations:
- 6th Grade - Identity
- 7th Grade - Relationships
- 8th Grade - Character
- 9th Grade - Purpose
- 10th Grade - Servant Leadership
- 11th Grade - Absolute Truth
- 12th Grade - Influence
--info for the upcoming year--
Each year we offer specific events geared to engage and challenge students to grow to love God and love others. We encourage students (and parents) to be involved in these events to maximize the opportunities for life-change. We are in the process of finalizing details and will be announced soon.
