Dancing for the King

Children’s Dance Ministry

"Let them praise His name with dancing" (Psalm 149:3)

"Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God,for this is your spiritual act of worship." (Romans 12:1)

The Ministry
Our desire is:

  • To teach children that their bodies are instruments of praise that can glorify our King through beautiful, elegant movement.
  • To share Christ’s love through the presentation of our choreography.
  • To encourage others, through the graceful worship of God’s young daughters, to “welcome the kingdom of God like a little child” (Mark 10:15).

Dance Instruction
The children will receive instruction in ballet technique and creative movement. Each class will begin with a warm-up including stretching and barre work (a series of exercises designed to teach proper alignment and technique). Instruction on basic ballet steps, turns, and jumps will follow the warm-up. Classes will end with a choreography session.

Presentation Opportunities
Presentation opportunities include dancing before our Station Hill and Brentwood Baptist church family. Other possibilities for outreach may include presentations at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, assisted living facilities, and other venues where we can bless others through our ministry.

Fees and Registration
Fees- There is no fee to participate in the dance ministry at Station Hill. There is, however, a limit to the number of spaces available for each age group.
